As a result of the competition being cancelled on two Sundays because of weather conditions Sunday the 12th of Decembers' competition is THE FINAL ROUND of the Winter Alliance. The overall winner in each section will be determined by their two best cards from competitions played. Thanks to Murt Mangan, sponsors representative, for their support.
Enniscorthy remains closed as Country under water.
Due to the inordinate amount of rainfall over the past week several
courses were closed up and down the County at some stage or other
including Enniscorthy. This caused disruption to several golfing events
such as Martin Doyle’s Classic and the Gents Open Seniors Singles. The
later has been postponed to tomorrow, Thursday the 19th, with the time
sheet already in action and filling up. Hopefully, the midweek Ladies or
Gents Open Fourball Qualifier will have gone ahead although the forecast
remains unsettled. This Saturday, course conditions permitting, we
welcome Pauline’s Golf Society. This is their second visit this year
when on their initial visit last February they gave a glowing report on
the state of the course and the hospitality of the officers and the
clubhouse. The Cathal O'Shaughnessy golf society follows Pauline’s G.S.
and we wish all a pleasant days’ golf. Sunday we see the O.C.M
Construction Winter Alliance Gents Open Singles continues and we thank
Murt Mangan for his sponsorship of this event. The Club Dinner takes
place on Saturday night the 28th of November and tickets are available
from the office. The Annual General Meeting of the takes place on the
6th of December and motions for the A.G.M must be with the Secretary 14
clear days prior to the 6th of December. Amendments to motions for the
A.G.M and all nominations for committee must be sent to the Secretary in
writing, to arrive not later than 6 p.m.on November the 29th. Full
details are included in the Annual Report which by now every fully paid
up member should have received by post. Members with an email facility
are asked to submit this means of contact to the office at
info@enniscorthygc.ie with your GolfNet number in the subject line for
verification. We hope that in future we can utilise emails together with
the postal system for those without access to this technology to further
reduce office running costs. Please be aware that your email details
