Junior Captains Prize from Graham Donohoe Results

JUNIOR CAPTAIN’S ADDRESS:

Firstly, I would like to thank Mr. Jack Murphy, Junior Convenor, for giving me the honour and privilege of being Junior Captain of Enniscorthy Golf Club for the year 2009.
My hopes for the year would be that Enniscorthy Golf Club Junior Section would go one better than last year and win the All-Ireland Pennant for the Club. Thanks to the dedication of Jack, Bridie Kelly, and Marie Dunphy and in previous years George Leech Enniscorthy Golf Club has one of the best Junior Sections in Ireland.
I think that it is now very important that the club tries to promote girl’s junior golf in Enniscorthy Golf Club and this is an issue that requires attention.
I would also like to thank the parents who travelled all over Ireland bringing Junior’s to compete in the tournaments and competitions for the club. Without their support we would not be able to commute to the various venues to compete. These people deserve our appreciation.
I hope that all junior golfers have a very successful and enjoyable golfing year in 2009. I know that all the Juniors are tuning and refining their swings with the help of our Professional Mr. Martin Sludds preparing for the start of Junior competition in early July when the schools close. Junior Club competitions also take place on Wednesday morning during the summer holidays.
I would encourage any young person like myself considering an activity in which they can socialise, have fun, enjoy the outdoors and play a competitive sport to take up the game of golf in Enniscorthy Golf Club. It would be my pleasure to talk to you and tell you how to join and supply you with all the information you need.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish the Men's Captain Mr. Declan Lyons and the Ladies Captain Mrs. Cora Mernagh a very successful and enjoyable year as Captains of Enniscorthy Golf Club.
